Year In Review: N-Squared List
Just like last year, I guess some things have not changed. This could be a reference.
Travel Back in Time
So I was watching Natsu no Arashi on Crunchyroll today, and I noticed their browser client has leveled up (again).
But they also have a link to their old client. One thing leads to another, neurons fired, a cicada croaked, bees flew, &c; the throwback stuff I was drinking might have had an effect too, I’m not sure. The result was this:
It didn’t help that I noticed this functionality while in Arashi, Hajime and the girls were talking about going back in time. I think a part of my mind was stuck thinking about this week’s album cover cameo too. There were a couple pretty striking ones that are decidedly 70s-80s fare (and as usual hopelessly beyond my puny pop cultural database) this week.
I’m not sure why I associate a simple, functional phrase with the content in the show, but it would be kind of neat as an Easter egg…
That said, on my book, Natsu no Arashi might be the most interesting anime on CR right now besides Gintama. And I say this only because I am not watching Gintama but have heard good things about it. Natsu no Arashi is a successful throwback formula. Like White Album, for example, it is both new and old; but unlike White Album it’s mostly freed from the bonds of the source material, or so it feels like it. I hope someone who knows with more authority can chime in, either way.
