Chihhi’s Big Collaboration

August 3rd, 2009

Looking slightly ahead, there are a couple albums I’d like to pick up down the road. Unfortunately I don’t know much about them. If you do, please let me know! [Also, silly CD Japan affiliate links inc.]

1. On 9/30, Ishikawa has a new album out, something about “Daremo Oshiete Kurenakatta Koto“… I rather enjoyed her last one even though it didn’t get too much play time on my playlists. Y/N? You can find a blurb on Ishikawa’s HP, complete with track list…

  1. Prototype ~Album version (from Gundam 00 2nd season…)
  2. 砂の上のドルフィン (B-side to 1/2
  3. squall (B-side to Prototype)
  4. クラウディ
  5. 落涙 (from Sengoku Basara)
  6. Shylpeed~シルフィード~
  7. 49scale
  8. First Pain (Elementhunters OP)
  9. Blue Velvet
  10. 誰も教えてくれなかったこと (B-side to First Pain)
  11. 太陽 (a self cover)
  12. 1/2(はんぶん) (You’re Under Arrest Full Throttle ED)

2. There’s also Chihiro Yonekura’s collaboration CD, “Departure“–Supposedly all those jolly anison old-timers like Makkun, Momoi, Kageyama, Chiaki Ishikawa, and others are joining in to make … stuff. I’m curious, naturally. The release date is also 9/30, and it would be amusing if the Ishikawa track from before (track 11, see above) is one of the tracks here? Somehow Chihhi wrote a teaser thing that lists  all the composers, lyricists and arrangement credits listed… So there are 10 tracks, at least we know that. Since I’m illiterate, you can read it from the various links below if you want details on who’s what.

I suppose the big draw this time isn’t the crossover promotion names (or even the possibility of those people doing the chorus for Chihhi), but that Chihhi is writing her own songs… That is a real challenge indeed and hopefully it’s worth a pre-order.

As a final note, Chihhi is a prolific anison-type artist, with many albums over the years. On the other hand Ishikawa is, uh, in a way the real deal, who can write and sing and probably even play something(?), but her output is a lot less, even if we take all the See-Saw stuff into account. It’s only recently that Ishikawa rebooted her solo label. Compare & contrast, guys.
