Animelo 2008 BRD Day 2, Bullet Style
April 4th, 2009
- (Somewhat) Chronological this time; the costumes are all pretty alright, nondescript, nothing to splooge over besides IM@S team all have long legs (or looks it) and look great in that otherwise strangely-colored outfit.
- So, day 2 is the command for LOVE.EXE -UNDER 17 | MOSAIC.WAV amirite. Plus bigger under-stage loading mechanism and light curtain that lowers. New tricks for hardcore fans…
- Raise your hands if you used the alternate angle to focus on Momoi only…
- What’s up with Momoi falling over? Twice? She’s pro enough to barely skip a note both times but I guess she didn’t hurt herself at least. Or not pro enough to not fall over? I’m sure they had dressed rehersals, so… She made a loud yelp the first time, was cute in the lol dojjiko way except she fell kinda hard.
- ave;new feat. Saori Sakura was really impressive. Best song and dance on disc 1.
- Who’s doing it right? Lia. Who’s doing it wrong? ELISA.
- Domestic Love Band is LOLs (JUST LOOK). What’s with the special intro anyways.
- Ska-infused Fafner song is not as ANGELA but definitely just as amusing. I think I might prefer it more.
- Yui Horie’s Kurobara Hozonkai is pretty funny too. But … yeah, they’re just LOLz. While they perform just fine, it’s nothing special. Really not SRSBZNS.
- Watching miko on Blu-Ray on big, loud home theater speakers, doing that IOSYS classic…can be bad for your speakers. You can tell they didn’t screw up the stereo part of this PCM 2.1 track ;)
- Psychic Lover…old pros are old. And pros. Obviously Fukuyama has a thing with them. I really like the second song they played. Maybe I can hear it today :3
My opinion of dekobitch went up after her performance! Good job Aya Hirano and your spasm-monkey rallying. - Chiaki Ishikawa was a little odd at first, to me, but after their duet it all made sense.
- Chihiro Yonekura sounds just as lovely as she did 10 years ago.
- Aki Misato actually has a nice looking face but she tries too hard. Nice songs though.
- JAM PROJECT was not the same without Makkun but it was actually good in a way when it’s all guys jamming. Actually, you can tell JAM PROJECT has to redo their act, and later on we saw them rehearse the day of.
- Kageyama said a thing during their MC about their No Borders tour, which makes sense because they’ve played in 3 different foreign cities by then already, with Baltimore being their last stop. :woop: Glad to see props from Kage-nii :woop:
- So because Makkun wasn’t there they did a bunch of stuff to give her props. Like the bodypaint on Kageyama’s arm. It actually looked really nice at first except the sweat made it dissolve. By the second song, it was turned into this black circle on his arm. Originally it said 奥井 and it was more like ◙井.
- After hearing YELLS four times like this, I think my opinion changed. It does sound better after you learned to ignore the music and just pay attention to the people goofing off on stage.
- I think the second time, day 2, was the best version of YELLS, even if they totally dropped the bridge. Why? Saori Sakurai x Chiaki Ishikawa duet line is LOLLLLOLOL. Also the Kurobara guys and the Domestic Love Band guys have good synergy, and it made the many
HorieYuiel lines more amusing seeing them goofing off. What’s withAtsukoAiko’s funny snarl mouth shape? LOL. Plus you get to see the IM@S girls! - miko was so cute when she was doing her rounds.
- Speaking of which, the IM@S girls are totally a part of the stuff on this disc, even if we don’t see a glimpse of their performance. Especially true in the behind the scenes stuff. Like a brief moment on camera where Hocchan and Chiaking shared their connection and dropped Aice5 somewhere.
- Other gold moments behind the scene includes the IM@S girls fake-singing Lia’s Tori no Uta under the stage while waiting for their turn.
- Aaya was talking with May’n, I guess because they are of similar age and worked with each other before.
- A totally awesome bit was the video of rehearsal where they threw a birthday surprise for Chihhi. Long story short, Ishikawa sang a nice happy birthday solo for Chihhi!
- did I say miko was cute?
- ANGELA JA NEEEI
- Hocchan has proper form, for sure.
- The U17 reunion was pretty neat, I guess if that’s your thing (which I presume YES for just about all Momoi fans).
- I know Sound Horizon was there, you can hear it in the background briefly during the behind the scene segment at one point, but you never see them out there. And what’s up with no miko post-performance cam?
- There are more to this. I need to rewatch. Wikipedia is informative otherwise. Go watch it if you can!

Fun fact: Imai Asami which was one of the im@s girls appearing on that day actually did a cover of Tori no Uta on the character CD for Kisaragi Chihaya. I couldn’t imagine the thoughts going through her head when the original singer is singing it on stage while she’s just waiting at the backstage for her turn.
Nervous lols seems to categorizes well for many of these performers right before their turn on stage.
Big LOL @ Domestic Love Band:
- “Angela ja neee”
- “AIKO-SAMAAAAA!”
- all these echos of Ats…Aiko’s voice rest of guys did LOLOL
- and what a Shangri-La refrain a capella performance! (”YARO-DOMO, UTACCHIMAENA!”) :D
Now, big fail goes to Yoshiki Fukuyama for Okkusenman. Forgetting the lyrics completely? Maybe they commented that somehow in making of but I didn’t understand that… can somebody deny/confirm that, please I’d love to believe it was only problems with microphone.
Makka na Chikai performance was superb, though :)
