Xam’d Episode 22 - Bon Appétit: Adventure in Bento-making
This episode is the songs of the women of Xam’d. Surprisingly, it is entirely missing Nakiami.
Fusa gets a couple good monologues in this episode as she mopes around the clinic and ponders the predicament of her husband, her son, and her own circumstances.
The story threads are also converging. This episode wraps up the majority of action taking place on Sentan Island as SephirothMidori makes her way north, towards the Gathering. It also looks like Kakisu really took a bullet. It’s a bit of a spoiler though…
Gadget Check!
I hope that cross hair looks familiar to you, because we’ve seen them before.
I’ve been playing Fallout 3 lately. Assault shotgun anyone?
But THIS, this is the prize this week. The legs are lovely BattleMech-like. This clan triped sports a PPC and…uh, yeah.
Pew pew!
But humanoid weapons are nothing compared to Raigyo. And his motivational talk.
We got another very good, close-up shot of Ishu’s cannon rifle thing. I didn’t notice it’d pop smoke the split second it fires. Really neat details right there.
It’s like a pre-launch combustion sort of thing. The barrel has rifling so I guess that’d make her thing a cannon rather than a rocket launcher?
She’s armed to the teeth, literally and figuratively. Ishu and Raigyo make war, predictably so. Hopefully more will join the fray next episode.
Prosis is armed with something else.
That’s for making Midori’s dad mad, I guess.
On Akiyuki/Haru’s side, we got a glimpse of what the whole gathering is about. But really, is it just mass suicide? It’s so … FF7 with the whole stream of green goo nonsense.
Tossing the baby out with the bath water, eh.
At some other corner in the world, also known as Sentan Island war memorial, someone loses something precious.
These pics are way too spoiler-y for me, but you’d be surprised.
Requiem for a wayward son.
Requiem for a wayward world?
PEW PEW PEW!
I’m a man! OM NOM NOM NOM.
And there you have it. It really is FF7. I can’t believe it, but I have faith. I believe Ryuuzou will say the right thing, just like Akiyuki will do the same.

Thank you for sharing! This Episode is really moving!
Raigyo is our hero.
Ryuuzo ’snapping’ is one of the many things that struck me this episode. We know it from his character all this time, but they remind us again during Fusa’s comments that he keeps all his feelings inside.
I’m getting a good feeling for the ending.
I’m not entirely sure he has snapped, but blinding him made it fair game at least on some level. The distinction is fuzzy so Fusa’s comments made it clear for us.
Chipping in to comment that the third shot depicts a surprisingly accurate IV line. Though the drip chamber should not be blue and would be difficult to squeeze (in order to fill it — it works on a suction system), it is overall semi-accurate. They even have the roller clamp to regulate the IV flow rate!
Where did you all watch this video?! I can’t find it anywhere! It does look good too. The last episode? Right? :3 I really want to see it. Veoh doesn’t work for me, just a heads up.
I got it from the Playstation Store. There should be 4 more episodes left out of a total of 26.
WTH, don’t forget the manly confrontation full of manly tears and a man’s feelings. Where’s my manly songs?
