Xam’d Episode 21 - Domestic Violence

December 31st, 2008

As expected from the last episode, the focus is on Sentan Island.

Heh.

“Woah, a woman! I have not seen one for weeks!”

Anyways. Speaking of romance–

“Yeah, baby!”

Their powerful reunion was more tsun than tsundere. Then again, Ryuzo is always his intensely calm self, no matter if it is harboring terrorists, finding a cure for cancer, or being Solid Snake. I’m not sure exactly why did Mom left Dad (or vice versa?) but I get the feeling it’s because someone was a little too cool

Someone really needs a wife.

This is the mountain fortress of the southern army, trying to break into THE TOWER OF DURAGA. It’s rather nice design-wise, but I’m not sure if it feels Ghibli-ish or more like episode 1 of Eureka 7.

And oh, that is this week’s GADGET CHECK winner. It’s between that or this.

Unless you have a thing for kitchen appliances.

Or bicycles.

And maybe a car.

Speaking of more gadgets, so there is this thing called Tentacle Grape, a gag-gifting carbonated beverage, of presumably purple persuasion with a grape taste.

Will they come up with a new flavor if it is successful? Called Tentacle Midori? That is green? You can tell me how it should taste…

As mundane as this shot was, I can feel the love. The love for details. It’s insane.

A similar scene in this episode–when Akiyuki, Haru and their mysterious guide descends the TOWER OF DRUAGA–

It took them a whole day just to walk half way down.

He really needs a wife. I guess his mom is destiny preordained? Sumako is definitely a witch alright.

I guess he might be into little boys more?

Well, Azami’s days were numbered to begin with.

I did say Solid Snake earlier–

So here they go–

Basically, plot-wise, this episode breaks loose the thread at Sentan Island. Mom & Dad gets back together, but Dad only needs to face Kagisu immediately after as Kagisu holds Midori hostage…or does she? I get the feeling a big surprise is coming up.

Midori’s dad, as seen above, is struggling to rescue his daughter but he failed. I think there’s something big coming up with that. But first he has to break out of the military base.

While Akiyuki and Haru gets cozy down by the Xam’d Gathering Place, Nakiami runs into a familiar face. The one that makes her smile like the boy she travels with.

What will happen next?

One thing we do know, is that Raigyo and Ishu will be back in action next episode. We saw Raigyo in a soldier’s uniform in the ED, so I guess we’ll see his military roots next.
