Year in Review: Sunshine & Kisses Drive to Origination, Shrine Maidens Lost Memories in Coded Euphoric Frontier
Running for your lives.
With style.
Seriously though, this post is not going anywhere with pre-determined logic. It’s mostly about SHAFTxSHINBO and nonsense related to things some of you might get, most of you may not.
As a child, I was always fascinated with construction. It’s natural, I suppose; growing up in an east Asian city in the peak years of it expansion. Scaffolding evoked imagery of steel beams size of men, and machines even larger.
Framework.
Through framework, humankind constructed things larger than life, and everything smaller than that. It held spaceships for launching, it held CNTs on nanometer-scale MEMS together. Ever broke a leg?
It’s on such foundations that we build our knowledge and experience as well, both academic and personal.
And it’s on these frameworks that like-minded people share a laugh.
VICTORY WATERMELON FOR ALL!
And sometimes, the building blocks only fit if you already have laid the appropriate foundation.
Is it only appropriate that we see this in the first episode of Hidamari Sketch X365? And the last episode of ef season 2?
From start to finish.
And on these solid, level footing, we look forward to a new spring.
It’s like finding out who the hell out there also watched Ryoko’s Case Files or Crystal Blaze. And who else who liked yet dropped Nyanko-sensei’s Nonsense because it’s too girly. Or someone who’s willing to hold a candle for Kimikiss or Real Drive (both top 10 2008 shows IMO).
Or who thought Lelouch Lamperouge was dead, and it was just a dream.
Some dreams have more buttocks than others.
While others have detailed shoes and toes.
I think I like sparkly ones more. And ones involving fast action scenes.
It’s hard to be original nowadays.
And frankly, why bother? Originality in itself is original in its pursuit. It is both a function of expression and a function of perception. The framework can be original as long as we can tune in to that channel off the air.
It’s like calling Mars the Orange Planet.
It’s like a Sony.

I loved Kimikiss, as I’ve said time and again. Real Drive is a show I plan to watch in the future. Healthy is good.
I have absolutely no idea what was going on this post. JUST AS PLANNED I guess.
You lost me at around the watermelon.
My brain tells me this was in English, but I’m not so sure…
