Bullet-Point Hit and Run
August 7th, 2008
In celebration of another episode of Xam’d downloaded, more pictures of Ishu Benikawa in various state of dress, undress, soberness, drunkenness, and more Houko-mom lines, here are a bunch of things that you might be interested. Yes, I’m just posting Xam’d screens and avoiding any plot descriptions–rest assured it is just another build-up episode.
- You figure your guest from your podcast would do the favor of linking to it, right? Well I am! I think CalAggie’s podcast is nowhere as bad as it seems, and I need to get a mic setup that it records mumbling better. Not feeling it with Skype. We did chat up about all kinds of stuff from Pudge Rodriguez to Caramelldansen. Ugh Caramelldansen. And Xam’d. And Jesus~ Dang we go all over.
- I think I mentioned the bit I did with Link and Wildarms a while back with Kurenai.
- And for that matter, I ordered the soundtrack to Kurenai (affiliate link). It is actually not as good as some make it up to be but the piano solos in that were excellent. Almost Hisaishi-ish. The style is definitely much more live-action film than anything grand and adventurous as typical of anime.
- Plug: Yuuki Aira’s first full length album (affiliate link). Ok I am a month late, but this is surprisingly …not bad? Especially if you actually watched Xenoglossia, Sola and True Tears. I don’t think it’s going to make a splash (and it hasn’t) but it’s above average for an anisong CD.
- If dreams came true…
- I know Production IG is doing something with the Kano Sisters at Otakon, but I don’t think I’ll go find out.
- Only if, say, Otakon can screen Sky Crawlers. :(
Here’s a nice boat for you all. Bones is not immune to its effects!

Haha, nice of you to mention. Nakiami has adorable feet — i’m waiting for the scene when we’ll see her close-up barefooted. I also have to mention, she wears such a cute cardigan. You already know what i said about cute drunk Benikawa. She’s becoming quite the character, in more ways then one.
As for the Kure-nai soundtrack, i’ll agree with you — it’s the piano pieces that make the soundtrack a great listen. Especially the track ‘Reality’. Shame there’s nothing else like it on the soundtrack.
[…] Aira Yuuki released a CD just a month or two ago, and it’s still quite pleasant overall. I think, like Eufonius’s Riya, her voice is […]
